Happy to be NAPPY!

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
                                                                            Psalm 139:14

As many of you know, a few months ago the children and I decided to go completely natural with our hair. This came as a result of things we were doing to deal with health concerns and sensitivities within the family, as well as the need for my children to know that GOD MADE THEM PERFECT.
We didn't allow too much time to past trying to grow it out either, we chopped all the relaxed hair and set off to grow our hair back out free of chemical. This was HUGE for us being as though we have always kept our hair pretty long and straightened with relaxer. At times, I look at myself and think, "Lord, what have I done!" It's all growing on us though and we are finding the styles that fit us.

Some styles have just been appearing, like these, after a day at the pool.

Others we spend a little time on like these. All in all we are just enjoying the freedoms and the natural beauty that has come with this experience!
I will say that it has been a task to correct the problems with our hair that resulted from the use of all the wrong hair care products, like breakage and retaining moisture. A sister from church gave a few good suggestions, Thanks Salyenthia ;), but then another friend sent me the web address to a blog,Cherish My Daughter, that has been wonderful to us in making this really difficult transition, Thanks Carlie ;)

The author Natacha, has so much to offer there that has been a blessing to us! Topics from encouragement on the journey, to how-to hairstyle instructions and even HOMEMADE hair products! Bless you sister! I won't say how many times a week I visit her blog reading and re-reading things :D, I will say be sure to go and check her out!

I am so excited about how far we have come with our life changes and where we going? Our hair and food choices along with physical activities have balanced out some health and skin issues we have battled for years, sometimes even having to treat with medication. It is such a blessing to be free from most of that stress now! I have to admit, I don't mind the weight loss that has resulted either :)

I would love to hear any comments or suggestions you may have! I know there are some more hairstylist out there we could benefit from as well! Feel free to leave us some knowledge! God Bless!
