Highlights

This has been a pretty busy and exciting week. We started the week out re-welcoming a new family member. Uncle JJ got married!!!!! We were not able to cross the Atlantic physically to be there but you don't know how bad we wanted to. The children said that this shows God really does hear us when we pray :) Congratulations Hayward and Deirdre!

Commander caught the sneak attack from Thing 1! Kinda funny so I threw it in......

The roses are still blooming here and there in our rose garden. This one has spoken to my heart everyday that I have passed by it going out of the house. God is so awesome for the things he has created! SO BEAUTIFUL!

Our homeschool group did not have PE this week so we used that time and hiked the German countryside. We hiked up to one of the local castles that was actually the home of the head of Hitlers air force. Initially I was a bit nervous about how the little ones would do on this 4+ mile hike but it turned out to be great. The sights were so beautiful along the way that even Thing 1 had to sit and take a minute to admire them.

Man Man walked in front of the baby and myself, moving tall grass and long branches so we could easily move about.

Commander (a.k.a. Moses) kept watch over his family. Who wouldn't feel safe with this pitbull overseeing things! Thing 1 stayed very close to him the entire time. On the way back he said he was tired and hitched a ride the rest of the way on daddy's neck. He was asleep as soon as daddy picked him up!

The children talked and sang and played all the way there.

I was so glad when the castle was in sight. I needed a sit down! We hiked for a little more than two hours. This was a first for me since my childhood.

Once there we had lunch, toured the house, tower, and the bunker. We managed a couple of good pics too!

We took another route back that was about half the time. About three quarters of the way back, La La was extremely tired and didn't want to walk anymore. She said she couldn't do it, so after a few stanzas of "Through Christ I Can Do All Things" she asked for my ipod and continued her trek the rest of the way back to the truck. I had to put a pep in my step to keep up with her now :)

The fashionista played a new position in todays game. She looked scared to death when the coach first put her at the goal but the team remained undefeated with a score of 7-1. Go Fires! Check out the muddy jersy and knees. My baby was gettin it!

The week ends with the birthdays of my little sis (23 yo) and and Auntie's Zeety B (3yo)!  Happy Birthday Ladies! We love you and miss you soooooo much! Wish we could be there!
